So today I want to share 4 of my FAVORITE comfort food recipes with you!! 😍
And these recipes are extra special because not only are they COMFORT foods, but they’re HEALTHY comfort foods! #win 🤗 (Because let’s face it, most traditional comfort foods are NOT gonna be good for your overall health OR your waistline!)
All of these recipes are gluten-free, grain-free, AND sugar-free — so you don’t even have to feel guilty for eating them. 😉

Alright, friend — let’s get into it then, shall we?!
4 Healthy Comfort Food Recipes to Delight Your Taste Buds:
1. Low-Carb, Gluten-Free “Mac” & Cheese
As a born-and-raised Wisconsin girl, I’m also a self-proclaimed “cheesehead”. (I think it’s pretty much a prerequisite to love cheese if you’re from Wisconsin! 🙃)
But honestly, who DOESN’T have a special spot in their heart for cheese?! Especially hot, melty, ooey, gooey cheese, smothering a heaping pile of pasta! 🧀
This recipe features a secret ingredient as the “pasta”: fiber-rich, nutrient-dense hearts of palm. That’s right — there’s not actually ANY pasta, grains, or starchy carbs in this dish — and I think once you taste it, you’ll be totally cool with that! 😄
It’s also made with organic, full-fat dairy in the cheese sauce. (Yes — full-fat! Because low-fat or non-fat dairy is more processed, plus it takes out all the fat-soluble nutrients & healthy fats found in organic, naturally-raised dairy.)
Not to mention, this recipe is ridiculously delish & insanely easy to prepare. I have a feeling this may become an instant classic in your home! 💜
2. Easy (& Healthy!) Shepherd’s Pie
This is one of those recipes that feels like it should totally be a vacation meal (or “cheat meal” as some like to call it), but instead you can feel great about the health-giving meal you’re eating! 🙌
This version of Shepherd’s Pie is gluten-free, grain-free, and filled with healthy fats & high-quality protein.
It’s made with mashed cauliflower on top (aka Mashed No-Tatoes), instead of starchy mashed potatoes that it’s traditionally made with.
Organic, grass-fed butter & organic virgin coconut oil add some healthy fats, replacing the damaged, unhealthy oils that are typically used.
Most importantly, this easy & healthy Shepherd’s Pie recipe features 100% grass-fed, organic beef — rather than conventional, non-organic meat — which highly healthifies it! 👌
3. Grain-Free Eggplant Parmesan
I tried eggplant parmesan for the first time while I was in chiropractic school when my good friend, Ricky, introduced us to it. Well, because of him, my life is changed forever — I officially can’t imagine my life without this amazing concoction now that I know about it! 💜
I don’t know if it’s the soft, mushy texture of the baked eggplant, or the melted cheese mixed with plenty of sauciness, or the fact that the eggplant is drenched in olive oil and coated with almond/coconut flour — all I know is this recipe is AMAZING & it’s one of my all-time favorite meals!! 🤗
It’s an absolute staple in our home — we eat it about once a week, and I always look forward to it each & every week.
This eggplant parmesan reminds me of comfort food at its finest. Plus, it’s loaded with healthy fats (from the olive oil, almond flour, & raw, organic, grass-fed cheese), so you’ll leave the table feeling super satisfied.
It’s a healthy alternative to the popular Italian dish, and it’s definitely a crowd-pleaser! 🙃
4. Black Bean Brownies + Cream Cheese Frosting
BLACK BEAN Brownies?? Yes — you read that right. You might be thinking that black beans & chocolate should never be put together & that mixing them together could never magically result in a brownie (at least one that’s not repulsive). 🤔
But I’m telling you — give ‘em a chance, because these babies are phenomenal! (Not to mention the cream cheese frosting, which brings this dessert to a whole new level!) 😋
The good news is that these black bean brownies & cream cheese frosting recipes are much healthier than their typical counterparts. Most brownies & frostings are loaded with sugar, refined flour, & unhealthy fats — all of which lead to inflammation, weight gain, & other health issues. 🙅
These brownies that are about to knock your socks off are sugar-free, gluten-free, & grain-free. They use xylitol instead of sugar, almond flour instead of refined flour, & healthy fats like organic virgin coconut oil. 👍
The frosting also uses xylitol as a healthier sugar alternative, and is made with organic dairy (rather than conventional, hormone-&-antibiotic-filled dairy).
