Hey there, friend! This is post #5 of the #FabHealthFitBody 6-week series. First of all, make sure you read all the way to the end of this post, because I have a special invitation for you near the end that you won’t want to miss! 🙃 But before we get to that, today I’m going to get a little bit vulnerable with you & share a personal story.
My Health Struggles
You see, the Dr. Christi that people know today isn’t who I’ve always been. These days, people see this sweet, young doctor, who’s healthy & super fit. They can’t imagine that someone like me would’ve ever struggled with their health in any way. But the truth is, my health & life today is radically different than it once was.
It all started when I was 19 years old. It happened out of the blue — with no prior warning signs or symptoms. All of a sudden, my heart started beating uncontrollably, I started hyperventilating & felt like I couldn’t take a deep breath, my arms & hands started tingling, I felt faint & dizzy & lightheaded… & in that moment, I literally felt like I was dying. I had no idea what was happening to me & had never felt anything like this before. 😰
After going to the emergency room, I found out it was a panic attack. And that was the start of a 2-year battle of frequent panic attacks. But it didn’t just stop there. I also suffered with severe anxiety — I was almost constantly in a state of stress & tension. Like, severely anxious to the point where I couldn’t even sit in class some days because I was so anxious. And to the point where my classmates & friends thought I was crazy. And to the point where my parents would sometimes drive 4 ½ hours to come stay with me & help take care of me for like a week at a time. Yeah — it was bad. 🙁
On top of that, I had very low energy levels & was exhausted most days — which I later found out was due to Adrenal Fatigue (caused by the constant stress & anxiety and my unhealthy lifestyle). I had trouble sleeping — most nights it took me for.ev.er. to fall asleep. And I also had some other random symptoms on & off, like dizziness, arm pain, bloating, & constipation. (#notfun 👎)
As far as a healthy lifestyle goes, mine was pretty much non-existent at the time. I hardly EVER exercised, & I had very little muscle tone. I didn’t have a clue what REAL healthy eating entailed. I wasn’t trying to actively detoxify my body or reduce toxic exposures in my life. And my mindset was full of fear, negativity, & even hopelessness at times. I THOUGHT I was living a decently healthy lifestyle & doing “okay”, but it turns out I was pretty far off. 😕
During those 2 years of struggling with my health, I couldn’t fully ENJOY my life! My health issues affected my relationships, my schooling, my ability to focus & concentrate, my social life, & my ability to have the FUN I used to have doing things I normally loved. 💔
My Health Transformation
But don’t worry — this story has a happy ending. 🙂 Everything changed when I discovered the principles of TRUE health & healing — the very same principles that I teach here! (Thanks to a wonderful, super-good-looking guy I met in school at the time who taught me how to live a truly healthy lifestyle — & this guy just so happened to become my husband! 💜).
I found the cause of my health issues, and was able to heal naturally by addressing my nutrition, fitness, detoxing, nerve system, and mindset. I can honestly say that I’m happier, healthier, & love my life more NOW than ever before! ☺
And now, my husband & I have spent years studying true health, & we’ve helped thousands of people in our natural health center achieve amazing results with their health & life through the application of these healthy living strategies. 🤗
I’ve learned that living with less-than-abundant health WILL negatively affect all areas of your life, & you won’t be able to reach your full potential & live your life to the fullest if you don’t have amazing health.
I’ve also learned that whether you have ANY symptoms or not, taking care of your health & living a healthy lifestyle day-in-&-day-out is of utmost importance. Without it, it’s simply impossible to live your best, happiest, most amazing life! So now, even though I don’t struggle with those health issues like I used to, I STILL live a healthy lifestyle — & my purpose & passion is to teach & empower others to do the same! 💜
You Can Have The Most Amazing, Healthy, Happy Life, Too!
Maybe you can relate to some of those feelings or symptoms that I’ve experienced, or the struggle to stay motivated to live a consistent, effective healthy lifestyle.
Or maybe you can relate to my mother-in-law, who used to have debilitating migraines, depression, anxiety, & was overweight. Because of her health, she couldn’t be the best mom she was created to be. She lost the excess weight, her migraines went away, & she got off her antidepressant medication that she’d been on for over 15 years! Now, she’s healthier in her 60’s than she’s been in decades! 😊

But now, they’re down 20+ pounds, off of their medications, their bodies are healing better, & they’re FEELING better & able to enjoy their life again! That’s true health freedom! 😍
