This delicious, nutritious, creamy dreamy smoothie is a health-boosting, nutrient-dense take on “Chunky Monkey”-flavored treats (which typically include flavors like banana, chocolate, & nuts).
I invented this smoothie about 6 weeks ago, & I couldn’t keep this mouth-watering recipe to myself ANY LONGER. So today, the secret is officially out! ☺️
I call this the Healthy “Chunky Monkey” Smoothie (or just Healthy Monkey Smoothie for short 🙃).
This smoothie is low-carb, sugar-free, loaded with healthy fats to promote metabolism & fat-burning, & uses Bone Broth Protein as the secret ingredient.
Bone Broth is an ancient superfood that supports digestion, metabolism, energy levels, detoxification, lean muscle, joints, & glowing skin — so many awesome benefits! 🤗
You’ll also get the benefits of some other superfoods & adaptogens like maca powder (more on that below) & raw cacao powder (which is also a great source of fiber!).
Alright, I’ll stop geeking out over all this nutrition stuff so you can start sipping this life-changing smoothie! 😉

Ingredients:
(Makes one serving)
- 1 ¼ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- Optional: A few ice cubes
- 2 Tbsp. raw almond butter
- 2 Tbsp. raw cacao powder
- 1 Tbsp. organic ground coffee (regular or decaf)
- ½ ripe avocado
- ½ scoop or 1 scoop Banana Crème Bone Broth Protein
- Dash of cinnamon
- Sweetener of choice, to taste (I’d recommend liquid vanilla stevia)
- Optional: 1-2 Tbsp. maca powder (highly recommended! Maca is an adaptogen, which helps balance hormones, boost your mood, increase energy, enhance fertility, & improve memory! Plus, it tastes kind of like butterscotch — delish!)
Directions:
1.Put all ingredients except for the Bone Broth Protein into a blender. → (We use a Vitamix, & nothing makes creamier, dreamier smoothies, soups, purees, & dessert batters than this baby!)
2.Blend on high speed until completely smooth.
3.Add the Bone Broth Protein to the blender, and blend it into the mixture on low speed.
4.Pour into a glass, and ENJOY!! ☺️
Variations:
You could also use Vanilla Bone Broth Protein and ½ banana per serving, in place of Banana Crème Bone Broth Protein. (The Vanilla Bone Broth Protein is super versatile for smoothies & desserts,so it’s a great option if you only want to try one flavor first.)
Another fun variation is to indulge in this smoothie as a smoothie bowl or pudding. Since it’s so thick & creamy, you could serve it in a dish, and even top it with some cinnamon, raw nuts, or cacao nibs for a delicious treat! 😋
